So? I’m overweight…whats the big deal? There’s more of me to love!

The number one problem in America?

Obesity is said to be the #1 problem in America. As Americans we absolutely love eating large portions of food. When we go into a restaurant we expect the food to be cheap and our bellies to be full. For us the greatest invention since sliced bread is the buffet, who doesn't love eating as much as they want for just $10?

But with all this alluring food all around us, this has led to us to become quite... large in theabdominal area. When people intake too many calories they become by definition “obese”. Obesity means that a person has too much body fat. A human being is made up of several things like water, fat, protein, carbohydrates, and various vitamins/minerals. When you intake too much fat especially for your “waist” area then you are at high risk of developing health problems.

Some of the health problems will include

  • High blood pressure
  • High blood cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Stroke

Medical research and health experts have identified that being overweight or obese does increase your chances of contracting these ailments more so then a person of normal weight.

Problems of obesity

  • High blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels can lead you to have a heart attack.
  • Obesity can lower your HDL or "good" cholesterol. (HDL cholesterol is linked with lowering the risk of heart disease and stroke)
  • It can induce or activate your diabetes
  • A major cause of gallstones
  • Can worsen degenerative joint disease
  • Women gaining more than 20lbs from age 18 to around 35 may double their risk of postmenopausal breast cancer compared to women who keep a stable weight throughout their life.
  • An estimated 300,000 deaths per year are attributed to obesity.

Seeing it all listed out like that can be quite frightening  for you or your loved ones. We all want you to prosper and live a healthy life…well, maybe except for your in-laws. 😉

So how can I change this?

Support-BubbleThe first and most important step is commitment. You need to have a plan on how you’ll change for the better and stick with it. Another thing to remember is that you eat healthier. There's a saying, "What you put in is what you get out" and it's the darn truth! So try eating whole foods instead of processed foods, you must drastically change your diet for the better. It’s possible for an over-weight/obese person to make that change but they do have to work at it much harder and with greater dedication than people of normal weight. We at Tokidiet recommend Phentramin-D to help you eat less and have more energy. But yes, get out there and be active in your life! As they say Carpe Diem (seize the day) and change yourself for the better!
